Our armed forces are 'post-Napoleonic' in their colourful display of traditional idiosyncratic regimental uniforms, commemorating from the end of the Napoleonic Empire as a symbol of Democracy standing against all Empire's of tyranny. Don't forget it ! It is not just 'pageantry' it's remembrance, restoration and resolution of our free 'esprit de cours'!
Our human dignity with no false pride or narcissism is a lesson not just in history! We did lose an Empire to end Fascism but we gained a future with the 'Commonwealth' and the common-wealth of our greatest 20th century achievement - the NHS!
Just as we remember applauding our brave NHS workers during Covid, we must equally applaud all those who stand shoulder to shoulder against dictatorship, and our many regimental uniforms represent the many who made the ultimate sacrifice who represent the many all the multiple diversity of those they were able to save!
Let us forgive even when we can not forget, so we don't forget how to forgive.
