Imposter

Gasps stunned resistant yet rooted silence

breathless groan in this half-buried dawn

awaits withered winter through the scrape

of the garish covetous flake

a tsunami of sprouting clutter

lime teeming inside dank mists

disdaining the swells of the emptied

hollow cavern like a

light spreading remorseless leap

over the forgotten coals

half mast half full half emptied

in a shot or pint glass

yet that brazen imposter

will still not out run

being caught by

the thrust of the sun
